The reason this is the best approach is that Task 1 asks you to describe trends, differences, and magnitudes using precise figures, not opinions or theory. Personal judgments would introduce opinions, abstract theory would shift into ideas rather than evidence, and historical background isn’t usually relevant unless it directly relates to the current data. For example, you might write that “Region A’s sales rose from 20 thousand to 35 thousand, while Region B fell from 25 thousand to 15 thousand, showing the gap narrowing.”
